BANTAM PRESS PROFILE
Launched in 1985, Bantam Press was Transworld Publisher’s first hardback imprint. Within three years many authors published by Corgi, Black Swan and Bantam paperbacks had moved to Bantam Press for hardback, including Jilly Cooper, Frederick Forsyth and Robert Goddard. One of Bantam Press’s most spectacular early successes came in May 1988 with the publication of Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time, which has gone on to sell over two million copies.
Since then Bantam Press has launched authors such as Andy McNab, Lee Child and Sophie Kinsella, who have become international bestsellers.
Notable successes from Bantam Press include The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins and 2008’s most successful hardback biography of the year, Paul O’Grady’s At My Mother’s Knee.
